6 Online Biz Strategies To Help You Start Making Money Faster

What a knucklehead!

When I first started online, I had no idea what this online biz stuff was all about. With almost 25 years in sales, marketing and business management, how hard could it be, right?

With an entrepreneurial spirit and absolutely no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up, I dove right in.

First, I tried an eBay store. That was a whole lot of work with very little profit. I just didn’t enjoy it.

Next was the pre-fab SMC drop ship estore thing. Drop shipping is where a wholesale warehouse company sells a ready-made store full of their products. You sell their products and make a very small profit and the company ships the goods. No stocking of inventory and no shipping hassles, however unless you are selling a butt load of products, the profit margin is pretty low.

Then I jumped into network marketing selling a nutritional product that I still use, really love and believe in. I wasn’t comfortable promoting a network marketing product. It just wasn’t a good fit for me and frankly it cost me an arm and a leg. I went in the hole $7,000 with that one!

By this time I’d been at it a couple of years and was getting nowhere fast and making NO money.

Finally I had to admit that I needed help. My offline business and marketing experience just wasn’t helping me much online. I had no technical skills and needed to get an education to learn how to build a business and market it online.

My education journey began…

I learned and learned and learned – and learned some more. By this time I was so fearful and my confidence so low that I wasn’t implementing what I was learning. I had developed a poverty mentality. And Oy! the money I spent and the time I wasted.

Technophobes Just Chill Out – Your Making Your Online Biz Way Too Hard

My words of wisdom from one technophobe to another… just chill!

When taking your offline business online or when starting a new internet business, the technology can be daunting. Actually it can totally freak you out. It did me.

When I first started online, I knew nothing about technology. I could check my email and use MS Works. That was it. I can remember how my shoulders hurt from being hunched over my keyboard for 14 hours a day, muscles all tight because I was stressed trying to figure out how to get a grip on all the technology needed to build my online biz. I made it so much harder than it had to be. I tried to figure it all out on my own, watching YouTube videos and doing Google searches til I was blue in the face to find the answers and still the tech stuff kicked my...

Will The Real Happypreneur Please Stand Up?

Back in the day, I remember a TV show called “What’s My Line?” It started out in black and white, then went to color and now there is a remake of it with Drew Whatshisname. (Yeah wise a$$, I know that dates me – I was a little bitty kid, OK!!) Anyway, if you’ve stopped snickering about my age, (it’s a decade before Medicare kicks in, but I did just order my first meal off the senior menu at Denny’s. Ha! Bet you’re still paying full price! Who’s snickering now??)

My point is this… if people have to guess what you do and who you serve in your business, you’ve got a BIG problem.

Listen to the voice of experience. I’m going to share something I learned in my journey to becoming a Happypreneur. and hopefully it’ll help to shorten your learning curve. If you are not being totally authentic, honest about where you are in in the process, if you try to be something you are not – well, your ideal client won’t show up because they won’t know you are the answer to their problem.

Baby Are You On Googles Spammer Hit List?

Yep, maybe I’m on that list, too. Many accidental spammers are on Google’s radar these days. Gone is the time when we would get away with lot’s of duplicate content out there in the web-o-shpere.

One of the big ways to get on Google’s Spammer hit list is to have your content pinged by too many pinging services. This causes too many duplicate pings, a red flag to Google since their Panda update, cracking down on too much poor quality duplicate content out there.

A ping is an alert sent out to search engines to let them know that you have published new content on your site and that their search engine bots also known as “spiders” visit your blog and index the new content.
